My Favourite Things Party

My Favourite Things Party

This is an evergreen party.. and it’s seriously so, so fun. It’s a blast to see what everyone has brought, but more than that, it’s getting together with your girlfriends that matters. It’s very hard to coordinate with everybody because of the busy schedules but do plan it once a year.

It is not a strain on any one person, so the hostess can also enjoy as much as the guests. No cake, No kitchen slogging, No dressing up, No extravagant decor needed. SIMPLEST PARTY EVER.

So, this is how it goes. Send them an invite. You may write something like this –

(You may define the budget limit according to you.)
So potluck makes everything easy. You can prepare 1 or 2 finger foods and ta-da. Done with the food. No dress up needed because you will all be wearing your PJs and sitting comfortably on floor rugs, sofas, table tops.. anywhere you want.

For decor you can just put up a ‘Welcome’ marquee or some balloons and done. If it is Diwali or christmas time, then you may decorate according to the festival.

The Rules

When the guests arrive, they put their bag of goodies in baskets. Then they write their names on 3 slips of paper and drop them in a bowl. One by one, each of them explains the significance of the gift they brought and why it’s their favourite. And after explaining, they pick out 3 slips from the bowl to determine the persons who will get their gift. If you draw your own name or repeat the same person twice, you may draw again.

Of course, there are no strict rules and you may trade off at the end. But do consider your friends’ sentiments while doing so.
Some thoughtful presents could be Hair accessories, Travel Bags, Face and Hair Spa or Beauty items, Handmade Soap, Mobile accessories, scarves, Artificial Jewellery, Perfumes, Essential Oils, Art & Craft Kits, Makeup Items, Gym T-shirts, Books, Home Decor Items.. anything and everything you can get your hands on. Also, you might want to send the invite somewhat early so that guests can plan and have time to buy stuff.

Try to use disposables so that you don’t have to do dishes afterwards. That way you not only enjoy the evening but the night also.
If you had to attend this party, what would be your favourite thing to bring?? Do leave in comments.

P.S. Look at other girls only party here.

Date Night at Home

Although we go for vacation once a year, the whole work and family life give us very little time to be together. And even if we do get an hour or so, most of the time we are on our devices.
