Some Back Story

Richa Gupta

Hi you!! 🙂

How are you? Wait. Let me introduce myself first. I am a not-so-strict mum of a 9-year-old boy and a one and half-year-old naughty girl. I make them eat their veggies and fruits but don’t bother too much if they eat some chocolate or biscuits once in a while.

Sometimes I get very angry at my son and glare at him with blazing eyes, but then I burst out laughing. (I don’t know why but maybe it’s my body’s reflex action to keep my BP under check). I have a loving husband, who too knows about this habit of mine. So, father and son don’t take my anger seriously ever.
I am also an assistant professor at University of Delhi and teach Computer Science to undergrad students.

“Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one”                                                                                             – Dr. Seuss

Well, people say I am creative.. in the sense… I like to think of (and make) innovative gifts for my husband and kids; I like to surprise them with different types of birthdays. I like to plan my kids’ birthdays months-in-advance and try to execute them with as much perfection as I can. Some people also tell me I am crazy to go to such lengths for a kid’s party but I don’t know why I get more excited than my kids.
Over the past 5 years, I have included different themes for each birthday.

This year as I was planning, I just thought of penning everything down for future parties for my daughter. Then I just thought.. why not share my ideas for all the moms.. who want to do something special for their child.. something with love.  You see, birthday’s only come once a year. Why not make the most of it. But then, why stop at birthdays?
Hence, the brainchild – ‘My Homemade Party’.

I seriously hope that you might try one or two ideas and definitely have a blast with it.

Good luck!
